Race 2 is a mile race for a $14,000 purse on Monday afternoon at Delta Downs. The likes of Magic Vow and Social Misfit should run well on these terms. Magic Vow is 8 for 42 in his career and has been in good form recently. He has finished 2nd, 4th, 3rd in his previous three entries.
Magic Vow placed 2nd behind Tensas Toddy by 1 length for a $16,000 purse on December 4. That was an encouraging performance from Magic Vow. He followed up to finish 4th and 3rd on January 4 and January 18.
Magic Vow finished 4th in a $13,000 claiming event on January 4, and then came back on January 18 to show 3rd in a $18,000 event. It depends how Magic Vow runs today. He has been inconsistent and could strike if he wants to run on Monday.
Social Misfit is a wily veteran with 25 wins in 93 entries. He is coming off a win on January 15, his second win in five outings. Social Misfit beat Rifle Man by a neck for a $18,000 purse. This was after Social Misfit showed 3rd in a $16,000 event. I would go with Social Misfit in this winnable class.
Race 7

We head to Race 7, which is a 7-furlong race for a $12,000 purse. Bajan Cash and Hardly Seen Slim are going to be tough to catch in this race. Bajan Cash is 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd in his previous four entries. He looked good in his most recent showing, placing 2nd on January 14 in a $12,000 assignment.
Bajan Cash was a neck behind Sweeping Edge in that performance. It was a nice try, and Bajan Cash could have gotten there if a break went his way. A similar performance will put Bajan Cash right near the front of the line in Race 7. Hardly Seen Slim is 5 for 40 and in good form recently after getting tripped up in the summer.
He went 8th, 8th, 7th in events at Lone Star and Louisiana Downs, but is finding his groove at Delta Downs. In his first race back at Delta Downs, Hardly Seen Slim beat Buck Dynasty by 3 ¼ lengths in a $12,000 event. He came back on January 13 and placed 2nd behind the winner by 1 ½ lengths. Despite the loss, it was a good run from Hardly Seen Slim. I would go with the No. 1 horse to deliver.

Race 9 is the final race at Delta Downs. This covers 7 furlongs on the dirt for a $12,000 purse. We’re looking at Bushido Samurai and J S Bach for the top prize in this assignment. Bushido Samurai is 4 for 33 in his career, and coming off one of the best efforts on December 21. He got into the winner’s circle for the first time since June 16, 2018.
Delta Downs Casino Louisiana Slots
Bushido Samurai went winless in 17 straight performances before breaking out the funk and finding gold. After finishing 4th on December 9, Bushido Samurai in a $17,000 event, a class drop to a $14,000 event did him well. Bushido Samurai defeated Southpine Gift by 4 ½ lengths. This should prove to be another winnable assignment for Bushido Samurai, though J S Bach will prove to be a tough foe. J S Bach has finished 5th, 4th, 6th in his previous three outings after winning on August 22.
He beat Dexter Road by 1 ¾ lengths in a $20,000 event, and then tailed off in his next three entries to finish 5th, 4th, 6th. J S Bach finished 6th in his most recent attempt in a tougher $13,100 event. Along with the class drop, this should be a significant easier trip for J S Bach. I would support him with a win bet.
The third edition of the Saudi International comes to life this week from Royal Greens Golf and Country Club. The gorgeous setting along the coast of the Red Sea is one reason so many world-class players have made the trip to King Abdullah Economic City. The other is the enormous appearance fees being thrown at the big names – just ask Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau.
Along with the two most recent major championship winners, both of last week’s victors (Patrick Reed and Paul Casey) are here, as are a number of other American stars and International world-beaters.
Let’s look at the odds and get to some Saudi International predictions
DJ is the overwhelming favorite no matter which of the top golf betting sites you shop your lines at. Arriving with nine straight finishes of 12th or better, Dustin won the inaugural Saudi International in 2019 and finished solo-2nd in 2020.

McDowell’s triumph in 2020 was his first victory on the European Tour since the 2014 Open de France. That’s the good news. The bad news is he hasn’t cracked the top-20 anywhere around the globe in 22 starts since. Graeme has missed the cut in 14 of those instances.
As you can imagine, McDowell won’t be featured as one of my Saudi International picks.
After spotting Viktor Hovland’s odds for the Saudi International at MyBookie (+1800), I was happy to lock him in. The Norwegian sensation is sitting at +1500 and +1600 at other reputable sites, and forget about having to wonder about his current form.

Sauntering into Saudi Arabia beaming with confidence, Viktor was quick to shrug off his disappointing finish on Sunday.
Trying to fade Viktor this week seems like a risky idea – I’ll be taking a stab.
